Who we are, and what you're agreeing to

DriveIn (“we”, “us”; formerly First Drive) is a driving-theory app operated by Katrin (Kalina) Krasner, Tel Aviv, Israel. The “app” means DriveIn and DriveIn Россия — the same app built around a different national question pool — on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

By installing or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use it. How we handle data is a separate document, the Privacy Policy, and it is part of this agreement.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you are in the EEA or the UK. The app collects no personal data from anyone, at any age — see the Privacy Policy.

What DriveIn is — and what it is not

DriveIn is a study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any ministry, licensing authority, driving school or examination body, in Israel or anywhere else.

Two more things follow from that, and both matter:

• The explainers are our explanations, not the statute. They are written to be understood by someone learning to drive, which means they simplify. Where an explainer and the law disagree, the law is right and we want to hear about it.
• On the road, the law wins. Road rules change, road signs are the ones in front of you, and a police officer's instruction outranks all of it. Never use the app while driving.

The road-trip briefing for other countries is orientation for a visiting driver — what is different there and what surprises people. It is not legal advice about driving abroad, and it does not cover everything.

What is free and what you pay for

The practice questions, the topic drills and the mock exams are free, with no limit and no timer. A selection of explainers is free too, so you can see what they are before deciding.

Paying unlocks all the reading: every explainer, the notes on individual questions, and the road-trip briefing for every destination — at once, not in pieces.

We may change what is included. If a change takes something away from a plan you are currently paying for, we will tell you before it applies to you.

The three ways to pay

• 1 month — an auto-renewing subscription.
• 3 months — an auto-renewing subscription, cheaper per month than the monthly one.
• Forever — a single purchase that does not renew and does not expire.

The price is always shown on the purchase screen, in your store's currency, before you pay. Both subscriptions may offer a free trial on the first purchase; the store decides whether you are eligible, and the screen only promises a trial when the store has confirmed one. The trial right is once per subscription group — taking it on one subscription uses it up for the other.

Billing, renewal, cancelling

• Purchases are made only through the app stores. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account. There is no billing on our side, and we never ask for card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play settings; access runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• If you started on a free trial, cancel before it ends to avoid being charged — the store's own rules on timing apply.
• Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its policies. We cannot issue one for a store purchase ourselves, but write to us and we will help you get to the right place.
• We may change prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and the store asks you to confirm before renewing at a higher price.

No accounts, so: “Restore purchases”

The app has no sign-up and no accounts. What you bought is remembered by the store account you bought it with, so on a new phone — or after reinstalling — tap “Restore purchases” and it comes back. We hold no purchase records that identify you.

To check whether a purchase is still active, the app asks RevenueCat, a service that talks to the App Store and Google Play on our behalf. It receives the identifier of the purchase and an anonymous installation identifier — never your name, e-mail or card.

What is ours, and what isn't

The explainers, the notes, the translations, the reference sections, the design, the mascot, the name and the code are ours. These Terms let you use the app; they do not give you rights to its content beyond that.

The official theory questions and the road signs are published by the national licensing authority of the country in question and belong to it — we reproduce them so you can practise on the real thing, and we do not claim them. Where the app uses material from other sources, the credits are listed in Settings.

Personal study is what the app is for. Copying the explainers out to republish, resell or feed into another product is not.

Acceptable use

Don't break the law; don't resell or redistribute the app or its content; don't reverse-engineer it except where the law allows; don't try to unlock paid content without paying; and don't interfere with how the app runs for other people.

Apple and Google

These Terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple or Google. We alone are responsible for the app and its content.

For the iOS app: your licence to use it is non-transferable and limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, under the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store Terms of Service. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app — that is on us, at the address below. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that refund, Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claim that the app infringes someone's rights, fails to meet a legal requirement, or breaches consumer-protection or privacy law — we are. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo, and are not listed as a prohibited or restricted party.

For Android, the equivalent applies to Google under the Google Play terms. You also agree to any third-party terms that apply to you through the store you installed from.

Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise that its content is complete, current, or free of mistakes. Rules change; we correct what we find.

To be explicit, because this is a road-safety subject: we give no warranty that studying with the app will make you pass any examination, and none that following an explainer will keep you within the law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country which cannot be excluded by an agreement — including, in the EEA and the UK, your statutory rights about faulty digital content and your right to withdraw from a purchase.

Changes to these Terms

Changes appear on this page with a new date at the top. If a change is material, we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version. The current version is always at this address.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Tel Aviv have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of your local law or of the right to bring a claim where you live.
